May 16, 2007 Kim Blazek, Director of Customer Care for Volusia Properties attended a Turtle Release held by the Marine Science Center at the North Turn in Ponce Inlet. Coleman, a sub adult Loggerhead was 95lbs, he was in rehab and treated for intestinal impaction, Ebenezer, a juvenile Kemp Ridley turtle was 11 lbs and was in rehab and treated for head trauma. |

May 14, 2007 an awards ceremony was held at the Marine Science Center to support the Endangered Species Program for Volusia County middle school students. The program promotes environmental awareness and stewardship by inspiring students in Volusia County to care about Florida's endangered and threatened species. Twelve middle school students (along with their science teachers) were chosen to represent their school and will present their ideas on how to save endangered species; Volusia Properties sponsored the prizes and awards for this program. |
